عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: أَرَأَيْتَ مَنْ لَمْ يَسْمَعِ النِّدَاءَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْقَرْيَةِ قَالَ: إِنْ شَاءَ جَاءَ، وَإِنْ شَاءَ فَلَا قَالَ: قُلْتُ: وَإِنْ كَانَ قَرِيبًا مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ ؟ قَالَ: إِنْ شَاءَ فَلْيَأْتِ، وَإِنْ شَاءَ فَلْيَجْلِسْ، قُلْتُ: أَفَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كُنْتُ فِي مَسْكَنٍ أَسْمَعُ فِيهِ مَرَّةً، وَلَا أَسْمَعُ فِيهِ أُخْرَى أَلِيَ رُخْصَةٌ أَنْ أَجْلِسَ إِذَا لَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قُلْتُ: وَإِنْ كُنْتُ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ الصَّلَاةَ قَدْ حَانَ حِينُهَا الَّذِي أَظُنُّ أَنَّهَا تُصَلَّى لَهُ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، إِذَا لَمْ تَسْمَعِ النِّدَاءَ
Translation
✧ I said to Ata: "What do you think of someone from the people of the village who does not hear the call?" He said: "If he wishes, he may come, and if he wishes, he may not." He said: I said: "Even if he is close to the mosque?" He said: "If he wishes, let him come, and if he wishes, let him sit." I said: "What do you think if I am in a dwelling where sometimes I hear it and sometimes I do not hear it? Do I have a concession to sit when I do not hear it?" He said: "Yes." I said: "Even if I know that the time of prayer has come, the time at which I think it is prayed?" He said: "Yes, if you do not hear the call."
