machine translationMuḥammad b. al-Munkadir did not hear from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Yarbūʿ. This is a strange (gharīb) hadith that we only know from the narration of Ibn Abī Fudayk, from al-Ḍaḥḥāk, from him.

    in جامع الترمذي, p. 851
  • Dāraquṭnī

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationAl-Dāraquṭnī reported the disagreement concerning it and said: The closest to correct is the narration of those who narrated it from al-Ḍaḥḥāk b. ʿUthmān, from Ibn al-Munkadir, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Yarbūʿ, from Abū Bakr. Aḥmad, al-Bukhārī and al-Tirmidhī said: Whoever said in it, "from Ibn al-Munkadir, from the son of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Yarbūʿ, from his father, from Abū Bakr," has made a mistake.

    in جامع الترمذي, p. 851
