machine translationAbū ʿĪsā said: The hadith of Ibn ʿAbbās has been narrated from Qābūs b. Abī Ẓabyān, from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ as a mursal report. The practice according to this among the majority of the people of knowledge is that when a Christian accepts Islam, the jizyah on his person is lifted from him. The saying of the Prophet ﷺ, "There is no tithe (ʿushūr) upon the Muslims," only means the poll-tax (jizyat al-raqabah). And in the hadith there is what explains this, where he said: "The tithes are only upon the Jews and the Christians, and there is no tithe upon the Muslims."

machine translationAbū Kurayb narrated to us, Jarīr narrated to us, from Qābūs, with this chain, similar to it. And on this topic there are reports from Saʿīd b. Zayd and the grandfather of Ḥarb b. ʿUbaydullāh al-Thaqafī. Abū ʿĪsā said: The hadith of Ibn ʿAbbās has been narrated from Qābūs b. Abī Ẓabyān, from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ as a mursal report.
