machine translationHe said: On this topic there are narrations from Ibn ʿUmar, Samurah, Abū al-Malīḥ from his father, and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Samurah. Abū ʿĪsā said: The hadith of Jābir is a good and sound (ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ) hadith. The people of knowledge have granted a concession for staying away from the congregational prayer and the Friday prayer in rain and mud. Aḥmad and Isḥāq hold this view. Abū ʿĪsā said: I heard Abū Zurʿah say: ʿAffān b. Muslim narrated a hadith from ʿAmr b. ʿAlī. And Abū Zurʿah said: We have not seen in Basra anyone with a better memory than these three: ʿAlī b. al-Madīnī, Ibn al-Shādhakūnī, and ʿAmr b. ʿAlī. And Abū al-Malīḥ's name is ʿĀmir, and it is said Zayd b. Usāmah b. ʿUmayr al-Hudhalī.
