حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ زِرٍّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ ؓ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ حَوَارِيًّا وَإِنَّ حَوَارِيَّ الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَيُقَالُ الْحَوَارِيُّ هُوَ النَّاصِرُ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي عُمَرَ يَقُولُ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ الْحَوَارِيُّ هُوَ النَّاصِرُ

Translation

that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, every Prophet has a Hawari, and my Hawari is Az-Zubair bin Al-'Awwam."

  • هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ. وَيُقَالُ الْحَوَارِيُّ هُوَ النَّاصِرُ. سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي عُمَرَ يَقُولُ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ الْحَوَارِيُّ هُوَ النَّاصِرُ

    machine translationThis is a good and sound (ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ) hadith. It is said that al-ḥawārī means the helper. I heard Ibn Abī ʿUmar say: Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah said: al-ḥawārī is the helper.
