حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْكِنْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ:

نَدَبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ النَّاسَ، مَنْ يَأْتِيِهِ بِخَبَرِ بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ، فَانْتَدَبَ الزُّبَيْرُ، ثُمَّ نَدَبَهُمْ فَانْتَدَبَ الزُّبَيْرُ ثَلَاثًا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: إِنَّ لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ حَوَارِيًّا، وَحَوَارِيَّ الزُّبَيْرُ.

✧ On the day of the Trench, the Messenger of God ﷺ called upon the people for someone to bring him news of Banu Qurayzah. Al-Zubayr volunteered. Then he called upon them again and al-Zubayr volunteered, three times. The Prophet ﷺ said: Every prophet has a disciple, and my disciple is al-Zubayr.
