حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُرَّةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ:

إِنَّ أَصْدَقَ الْحَدِيثِ كِتَابُ اللهِ، وَإِنَّ أَحْسَنَ الْهَدْيِ هَدْيُ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ، وَشَرَّ الْأُمُورِ مُحْدَثَاتُهَا، وَإِنَّ مَا تُوعَدُونَ لَآتٍ، وَمَا أَنْتُمْ بِمُعْجِزِينَ، وَإِنَّمَا بَعِيدٌ مَا لَيْسَ آتِيًا

Translation

✧ Indeed, the truest speech is the Book of Allah, the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad ﷺ, the worst of matters are their innovations, and indeed what you are promised will surely come, and you cannot frustrate [Him]. And truly far off is what is not coming.
