حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ
أَنَّ صُهَيْبًا لَمَّا طُعِنَ عُمَرُ قَالَ: وَاأَخَاهُ وَاأَخَاهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ: مَهْ يَا أَخِي، مَهْ يَا صُهَيْبُ، أَمَا سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ فِي قَبْرِهِ بِبُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ

✧ When ʿUmar was stabbed, Ṣuhayb said: O his brother, O his brother. ʿUmar said to him: Stop, O my brother; stop, O Ṣuhayb. Have you not heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: The deceased is punished in his grave by the weeping of his family?
