حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْفُرَاتِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الْعَبْدِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَعْيَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ:

سَأَلْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْقِرَدَةِ وَالْخَنَازِيرِ، أَهُمْ مِنْ نَسْلِ الْيَهُودِ ؟ فَقَالَ: لَا، إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَمْ يَلْعَنْ قَوْمًا قَطُّ فَمَسَخَهُمْ، فَيَكُونُ لَهُمْ نَسْلٌ، وَلَكِنَّ هَذَا خَلْقٌ كَانَ، فَلَمَّا غَضِبَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَى الْيَهُودِ فَمَسَخَهُمْ جَعَلَهُمْ مِثْلَهُمْ

✧ We asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about monkeys and pigs: Are they from the descendants of the Jews? He said: No. Allah, Mighty and Majestic, never cursed a people and transformed them so that they would have descendants. But this is a creation that already existed. When Allah, Mighty and Majestic, became angry with the Jews and transformed them, He made them like those creatures.
