حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَاصَلَ فِي رَمَضَانَ، فَرَآهُ النَّاسُ فَنَهَاهُمْ فَقِيلَ لَهُ: إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ فَقَالَ: إِنِّي لَسْتُ مِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ practiced continuous fasting in Ramadan, and the people saw him and he forbade them [from doing so]. It was said to him, 'You practice continuous fasting.' He said, 'I am not like you; I am fed and given drink.'
