✧ He said: “O people, upon you is obedience and the community, for they are the rope of Allah which He commanded. Indeed, what you dislike in obedience and the community is better than what you love in division. Indeed, Allah ﷻ has not created a thing except that He made for it a limit at which it stops. Indeed, Islam has advanced and has stability. It is about to reach its limit, then it will recede and decrease until the Day of Resurrection. The sign of that is that poverty will increase, ties of kinship will be severed so that the poor will not find anyone to return to him, until the rich will think that what he has is not enough for him, and until a man will complain to his brother and his cousin and they will not give him anything, and until the beggar will walk between the two Fridays with nothing placed in his hand. Then, when that happens, the earth will bellow a bellowing: the people of every tract will think that it bellowed in their tract. Then it will calm upon them as long as Allah wills. Then the earth will surprise them vomiting the pieces of its liver.” It was said: “O Abu ʿAbd al-Rahman, what are the pieces of its liver?” He said: “Pillars of gold and silver. From that day, neither gold nor silver will be of benefit until the Day of Resurrection.”
