حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ بَهْرَامَ ثنا سُعَيْرُ بْنُ الْخِمْسِ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

«مَا مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ آيَةٌ إِلَّا أَعْلَمُ حَيْثُ نَزَلَتْ وفِيمَنْ أُنْزِلَتْ وَلَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا أَعْلَمُ بِكِتَابِ اللهِ مِنِّي تَبْلُغُهُ الْإِبِلُ لَرَحَلْتُ إِلَيْهِ»
