حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا عَثَّامُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
«وَالَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُهُ مَا نَزَلَتْ سُورَةٌ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ إِلَّا وَأَنَا أَعْلَمُ حَيْثُ أُنْزِلَتْ وَلَا آيَةٌ وَأَعْلَمُ فِيمَنْ نَزَلَتْ وَلَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا أَعْلَمُ بِكِتَابِ اللهِ مِنِّي تَبْلُغُهُ الْإِبِلُ لَرَكِبْتُ إِلَيْهِ»
