حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمَدِينِيِّ فُسْتُقَةُ ثنا أَبُو عُمَرَ حَفْصُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ثنا بُهْلُولُ بْنُ مُوَرِّقٍ الشَّامِيُّ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَخِيهِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

جَاءَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ؓ بِأَبِيهِ أَبِي قُحَافَةَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُودُهُ شَيْخٌ أَعْمَى يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَلَا تَرَكْتَ الشَّيْخَ حَتَّى نَأْتِيَهُ؟» قَالَ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ يُؤْجَرَ وَاللهِ لَأَنَا كُنْتُ بِإِسْلَامِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَشَدُّ فَرَحًا مِنِّي بِإِسْلَامِ أَبِي أَلْتَمِسُ بِذَلِكَ قُرَّةَ عَيْنِكَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «صَدَقْتَ»

✧ Abu Bakr ؓ brought his father Abu Quhafa to the Messenger of God ﷺ, leading him, an old blind man, on the day of the conquest of Makkah. The Messenger of God ﷺ said to him, "Why did you not leave the old man until we came to him?" He said, "I wanted him to receive the reward. By God, I was more delighted by the Islam of Abu Talib than by the Islam of my father, seeking thereby the delight of your eye." The Messenger of God ﷺ said, "You have spoken the truth."
