حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ السَّقَطِيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ح وحَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا فَرَجُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ عَنْ لُقْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ

كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ فَخَطَبَ النَّاسَ فَقَالَ فِي مَوْعِظَتِهِ «أَلَا لَعَلَّكُمْ لَا تَرَوْنِي بَعْدَ عَامِكُمْ هَذَا» ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ طَوِيلٌ أَشْعَثُ كَأَنَّهُ مِنْ رِجَالِ شَنُوءَةَ فَقَالَ فَمَا الَّذِي نَفْعَلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ فَقَالَ «اعْبُدُوا رَبَّكُمْ وَصَلُّوا خَمْسَكُمْ وَصُومُوا شَهْرَكُمْ وَأَدُّوا زَكَاةَ أَمْوَالِكُمْ طَيِّبَةٌ بِهَا أَنْفُسُكُمْ تَدْخُلُوا جَنَّةَ رَبِّكُمْ»

✧ I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the Farewell Pilgrimage. He addressed the people and said in his sermon: “Indeed, perhaps you will not see me after this year of yours,” three times. A tall, disheveled man stood up, as if he were from the men of Shanū’ah, and said: “What then should we do, O Messenger of Allah?” He said: “Worship your Lord, perform your five prayers, fast your month, and pay the zakah of your wealth willingly, and you will enter the Paradise of your Lord.”
