حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُعِينُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحَرِيشِ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا حُصَيْنُ بْنُ حُذَيْفَةَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي وَعُمُومَتِي عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ صُهَيْبٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أُرِيتُ دَارَ هِجْرَتِكُمْ سَبِخَةً بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيْ حَرَّةٍ فَإِمَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ هَجَرَ أَوْ يَكُونَ يَثْرِبَ» قَالَ وَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ وَخَرَجَ مَعَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ؓ وَكُنْتُ قَدْ هَمَمْتُ بِالْخُرُوجِ مَعَهُ وَصَدَّنِي فَتَيَانٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ فَجَعَلْتُ لَيْلَتِي تِلْكَ أَقُومُ لَا أَقْعُدُ فَقَالُوا قَدْ شَغَلَهُ اللهُ عَنْكُمْ بِبَطْنِهِ وَلَمْ أَكُنْ شَاكِيًا فَنَامُوا فَخَرَجْتُ فَلَحِقَنِي مِنْهُمْ نَاسٌ بَعْدَمَا سِرْتُ يُرِيدُونَ رَدِّي فَقُلْتُ لَهُمْ هَلْ لَكُمْ أَنْ أُعْطِيَكُمْ أَوَاقِيَ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَسِيَرَا لِي بِمَكَّةَ وَتُخَلُّونَ سَبِيلِي وَتَوْثُقُونَ لِي فَفَعَلُوا فَتَبِعْتُهُمْ إِلَى مَكَّةَ فَقُلْتُ احْفُرُوا تَحْتَ أُسْكُفَّةِ الْبَابِ فَإِنَّ تَحْتَهَا الْأَوَاقِيَ فَاذْهَبُوا إِلَى فُلَانَةَ بِآيَةِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَخُذُوا الْحُلْيَتَيْنِ وَخَرَجْتُ حَتَّى قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قُبَاءَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَتَحَوَّلَ مِنْهَا فَلَمَّا رَآنِي قَالَ «يَا أَبَا يَحْيَى رَبِحَ الْبَيْعُ؟» ثَلَاثًا فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا سَبَقَنِي إِلَيْكَ أَحَدٌ وَمَا أَخْبَرَكَ إِلَّا جِبْرِيلُ ﷺ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said, "I was shown the abode of your emigration, a land of salt marshes between two lava tracts; either it is Hajar or it is Yathrib." He said: The Messenger of God ﷺ departed for Madinah, and Abu Bakr ؓ departed with him. I had intended to go out with him, but some young men of Quraysh prevented me. That night I kept standing and did not sit. They said, "God has distracted him from you with his stomach," but I was not ill. They slept, so I went out. Some people from them caught up with me after I had traveled, wanting to bring me back. I said to them, "Would you like me to give you some ounces of gold and two bracelets of mine in Makkah, and you let me go and give me your word?" They did so. I followed them to Makkah and said, "Dig under the threshold of the door, for beneath it are the ounces. Go to such-and-such a woman with such-and-such a sign and take the two ornaments." I left until I reached the Messenger of God ﷺ at Quba before he moved from it. When he saw me, he said, "O Abu Yahya, did the bargain profit?" three times. I said, "O Messenger of God, no one has preceded me to you, and nothing informed you except Gabriel ﷺ."
