حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْحَوْطِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْوُحَاظِيُّ ثنا أَبُو مَهْدِيٍّ سَعِيدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ عَنْ أَبِي شَجَرَةَ كَثِيرِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا عَرَضٌ حَاضِرٌ يَأْكُلُ مِنْهَا الْبَرُّ وَالْفَاجِرُ وَإِنَّ الْآخِرَةَ وَعَدٌ صَادِقٌ يَحْكُمُ فِيهَا مَلِكٌ قَادِرٌ يُحِقُّ بِهَا الْحَقَّ وَيُبْطِلُ الْبَاطِلَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ كُونُوا أَبْنَاءَ الْآخِرَةِ وَلَا تَكُونُوا أَبْنَاءَ دُنْيَا فَإِنَّ كُلَّ أُمٍّ يَتْبَعُهَا وَلَدُهَا»

✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: “O people, indeed this world is a passing enjoyment, from which the righteous and the wicked both eat, and indeed the Hereafter is a true promise, in which a Mighty King will judge, by which He will establish the truth and nullify falsehood. O people, be people of the Hereafter, and do not be people of this world, for every child follows its mother.”
