حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ قَالَا ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ثنا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ حَسَّانَ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدِ اللهِ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ مِشْكَمٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ شَدَّادَ بْنَ أَوْسٍ يَقُولُ
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِذَا كَنَزَ النَّاسُ الدَّنَانِيرَ وَالدَّرَاهِمَ فَاكْنِزُوا هَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الثَّبَاتَ فِي الْأَمْرِ وَالْعَزِيمَةَ عَلَى الرُّشْدِ وَأَسْأَلُكَ شُكْرَ نِعْمَتِكَ وَحُسْنَ عِبَادَتِكَ وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا تَعْلَمُ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا تَعْلَمُ وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا تَعْلَمُ

✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: “When people hoard dinars and dirhams, hoard these words: O God, I ask You for steadfastness in the affair and determination upon right guidance, and I ask You for gratitude for Your blessing and excellence in worshipping You, and I ask You for the good of what You know, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You know, and I seek Your forgiveness for what You know.”
