حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ أنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ثنا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ قَالَ

حَفِظْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ اثْنَتَيْنِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ «إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ مُحْسِنٌ يُحِبُّ الْإِحْسَانَ فَإِذَا قَتَلْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الْقِتْلَةَ وَإِذَا ذَبَحْتُمْ فَأَحْسِنُوا الذَّبْحَ وَلْيُحِدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَفْرَتَهُ ثُمَّ لِيُرِحْ ذَبِيحَتَهُ»

✧ I memorized two things from the Messenger of God ﷺ, that he said: “God, exalted is He, is excellent and loves excellence. So when you kill, kill well; and when you slaughter, slaughter well. Let one of you sharpen his blade, then give rest to his slaughtered animal.”
