حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بن عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
«قَدِمْنَا مُهِلِّينَ بِالْحَجِّ فَأَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَجْعَلَهَا عُمْرَةً وَنَحِلَّ وَكَانَ مَعَهُ الْهَدْيُ فَلَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ أَنْ يَجْعَلَهَا عُمْرَةً» وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَبُو بِشْرٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قِصَّةَ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

✧ We arrived declaring the intention for Hajj, and the Messenger of God ﷺ ordered us to make it an ʿUmrah and exit the state of consecration. He had a sacrificial animal with him, so he could not make it an ʿUmrah. Abū Bishr did not mention in his hadith the story of Surāqah b. Mālik.
