✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ entered ihram, and we entered ihram with him for hajj exclusively, until we arrived in Makkah on the morning of the fourth of Dhu al-Hijjah. We circumambulated the House and between al-Safa and al-Marwah. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ ordered whoever among us had not driven a sacrificial animal to exit ihram. He did not firmly command concerning the matter of women. Jabir said, We said, He left us until when there remained between us and Arafah only five nights, he ordered us to exit ihram, so that we would go to Arafat while pre-seminal fluid dripped from our private parts, but he himself did not exit ihram. The Messenger of God ﷺ had driven the sacrificial animal. Our words reached the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he stood up to preach to the people, praised God and extolled Him, then mentioned what had reached him of their words, and said, "You know that I am the most God-fearing of you toward God Almighty, the most truthful, and the most righteous. Had I not driven the sacrificial animal, I would have exited ihram. Had I known earlier what I came to know later, I would not have offered the sacrificial animal." Jabir b. Abd Allah said, We heard and obeyed, so we exited ihram. Al-Layth said, He means the mut'ah. Al-Layth did not mention the story of Suraqah b. Malik.
