حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زَيْدٍ الْحَوْطِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ثنا أَرْطَاةُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ عَنْ ضَمْرَةَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ قَالَ
بَيْنَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِذْ سَأَلَهُ سَائِلٌ هَلْ أُتِيتَ بِطَعَامٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ أُتِيتُ بِطَعَامٍ بِمِسْخَنَةٍ» فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ مَا كَانَ فِيهَا مِنْ فَضْلٍ عَنْكَ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» قَالَ فَمَا فُعِلَ بِهِ؟ قَالَ رُفِعَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ يُوحَى إِلَيَّ أَنِّي غَيْرُ لَابِثٍ فِيكُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ثُمَّ لَسْتُمْ لَابِثِينَ بَعْدِي إِلَّا قَلِيلًا تَقُولُونَ مَتَى مَتَى؟ ثُمَّ تَأْتُونَ أَفْنَادًا وَبَيْنَ يَدَيِ السَّاعَةِ مُوتَانٌ شَدِيدٌ وَبَعْدَهُ سَنَوَاتُ الزَّلَازِلِ

✧ While we were with the Messenger of God ﷺ, a questioner asked him: Has food been brought to you from the sky? He said: "Yes, food was brought to me in a covered dish." He said: O Prophet of God, was there any of it left over from you? He said: "Yes." He said: What was done with it? He said: "It was raised up to the sky, and it is being revealed to me that I will not remain among you except for a little while. Then you will not remain after me except for a little while. You will say: When? When? Then you will come in scattered groups. Before the Hour there will be a severe death, and after it years of earthquakes."
