حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ
كُنْتُ غُلَامًا وَكُنْتُ أَتَلَقَّى الرُّكْبَانَ مِنْ عِنْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَسْتَقْرِئُهُمْ فَأَخْبَرُونِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لِيَؤُمَّكُمْ أَكْثَرُكُمْ قُرْآنًا» فَكُنْتُ أَؤُمُّهُمْ

✧ I was a boy, and I would meet the riders coming from the Messenger of God ﷺ and ask them to recite to me. They told me that the Messenger of God ﷺ said, 'Let the one among you with the most Qur'an lead you,' and so I led them.
