حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّلَّالُ الْكُوفِيُّ ثنا مُخَوَّلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي قُرَّةَ الْكِنْدِيِّ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيِّ قَالَ
احْتَطَبْتُ حَطَبًا وَصَنَعَتُ طَعَامًا فَأَتَيْتُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَكَانَ يَسِيرًا فَوَضَعْتُهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذَا؟» قُلْتُ صَدَقَةٌ فَقَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ «كُلُوا» وَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ قُلْتُ هَذِهِ مِنْ عَلَامَتِهِ ثُمَّ مَكَثْتُ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ أَنْ أَمْكُثَ ثُمَّ قُلْتُ لِمَوْلَاتِي هَبِي لِي يَوْمًا؟ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ فَانْطَلَقْتُ فَاحْتَطَبْتُ حَطَبًا فَبِعْتُهُ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ وَصَنَعْتُ طَعَامًا فَأَتَيْتُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ بَيْنَ أَصْحَابِهِ فَوَضَعْتُهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَقَالَ «مَا هَذِهِ؟» قُلْتُ هَدِيَّةٌ فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ وَقَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ «خُذُوا بِسْمِ اللهِ» فَقُلْتُ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ قَالَ «وَمَا ذَاكَ؟» فَحَدَّثْتُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ ثُمَّ قُلْتُ أَيَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَإِنَّهُ حَدَّثَنِي أَنَّكَ نَبِيٌّ؟ قَالَ «لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا نَفْسٌ مُسْلِمَةٌ»

✧ I gathered firewood and prepared some food, then brought it to the Prophet ﷺ, and it was small in amount. I placed it before him, and he said, “What is this?” I said, “Charity.” He said to his companions, “Eat,” but he did not eat. I said, “This is one of his signs.” Then I remained as long as God willed, then I said to my mistress, “Grant me a day off.” She said, “Yes.” So I went out, gathered firewood, sold it for more than that, prepared some food, and brought it to the Prophet ﷺ while he was among his companions. I placed it before him, and he said, “What is this?” I said, “A gift.” He placed his hand and said to his companions, “Take it, in the name of God.” Then I said, “I bear witness that you are the Messenger of God.” He said, “And why is that?” I told him about the man, then I said, “Will he enter Paradise, O Messenger of God, for he told me that you are a Prophet?” He said, “Only a Muslim soul will enter Paradise.”
