✧ Salman returned from an absence, and 'Umar ؓ met him and said: May Allah keep you a righteous servant. He married into Kindah. On the night he was to enter upon his wife, the house was adorned and there were women in it. He said: Has the Ka'bah moved to Kindah, or is it redness? My friend Abu al-Qasim ﷺ commanded us not to keep furnishings except simple belongings like those of a traveler, and not to keep women except those we marry. The women left, and he entered upon his wife and said: O you, will you obey me or disobey me? She said: Rather I will obey you in whatever you wish. He said: My friend ﷺ commanded us that when one of us enters upon his wife, he should stand and pray, and order her to pray behind him, and he should supplicate and she should say amin. He did so and she did. When he sat in the gathering of Kindah, a man said to him: How did you wake, O Abu Abdullah? How did you find your wife last night? He remained silent. He repeated it a second time, and he said to him: Why does one of you ask about what walls and doors conceal? It is enough for one of you to ask about something, whether it is answered or kept silent.
