حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا قَبِيصَةُ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَخِيهِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ
خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ نَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ وَيُقْرِئُهُ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا فَقَالَ «الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ كِتَابُ اللهِ وَاحِدٌ فِيكُمُ الْأَسْوَدُ وَالْأَحْمَرُ اقْرَأُوا الْقُرْآنَ اقْرَأُوا الْقُرْآنَ اقْرَأُوا الْقُرْآنَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ أَقْوَامٌ يَقْرَأُونَ الْقُرْآنَ يُقِيمُونَ حُرُوفَهُ كَمَا يُقَامُ السَّهْمُ لَا يُجَاوِزُ تَرَاقِيَهُمْ يَتَعَجَّلُونَ أَجْرَهُ وَلَا يَتَأَجَّلُونَهُ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ came out to us while we were reciting the Qur'an, and some of us were teaching it to others. He said: “Praise be to God. The Book of God is one, and among you are the black and the red. Recite the Qur'an, recite the Qur'an, recite the Qur'an before there come people who recite the Qur'an and pronounce its letters perfectly, as an arrow is made straight, but it does not go beyond their collarbones. They seek its reward in haste and do not defer it.”
