✧ By Allah, never have I seen, as on this day, a secluded maiden in her chamber — or he said, a young woman in her chamber. He said: He was struck down until he could not raise his head. He said: That was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said, "Do you suspect anyone?" They said, "No, O Messenger of Allah, except that ʿĀmir b. Rabīʿah said to him such-and-such." He said: So he summoned him and summoned ʿĀmir b. Rabīʿah, and said, "Glory be to Allah! For what reason does one of you kill his brother? When he sees something from him that pleases him, let him supplicate for blessing for him." He said: Then he ordered him, and he washed for him. He washed his face, the outer part of his palms, his elbows, his chest, the inner side of his waist-wrapper, his knees, and the extremities of his feet in the vessel, their outer sides. Then he ordered it to be poured over his head, and he tilted the vessel from behind him. I think he said: And he ordered him, and he sipped from it several sips. Then he ordered him, and he stood up and departed with the riding party.
