al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 5373

✧ Saad b. Ubadah al-Ansari, then al-Khazraji, a follower from Badr and Uhud, a captain, known as Abu Thabit, he stayed in Sham and passed away there.

حَدَّثَنَا الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَنَدِيُّ ثنا أَبُو حُمَةَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ ثنا أَبُو قُرَّةَ قَالَ ذَكَرَ زَمْعَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ عُبَادَةَ اسْتَفْتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي نَذْرٍ كَانَ عَلَى أُمِّهِ أَنْ يَقْضِيَهُ فَأَمَرَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَنْ يَقْضِيَهُ عَنْهَا»

✧ He informed him that Sa'd b. 'Ubādah sought a ruling from the Messenger of God ﷺ concerning a vow that was upon his mother, that he should fulfill it. The Messenger of God ﷺ commanded him "to fulfill it on her behalf."
