✧ Saad b. Ubadah al-Ansari, then al-Khazraji, a follower from Badr and Uhud, a captain, known as Abu Thabit, he stayed in Sham and passed away there.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ طَاهِرِ بْنِ حَرْمَلَةَ ثنا جَدِّي ثنا إِدْرِيسُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ حَيْوَةَ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ عَنْ عَقِيلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ عُبَادَةَ اسْتَفْتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي نَذْرٍ كَانَ عَلَى أُمِّهِ فَتُوُفِّيَتْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقْضِيَهُ فَأَفْتَاهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَنْ يَقْضِيَهُ»

✧ Sa'd b. 'Ubādah sought a ruling from the Messenger of God ﷺ concerning a vow that had been upon his mother, who died before fulfilling it. The Messenger of God ﷺ ruled that "he should fulfill it."
