al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 5372

✧ Saad b. Ubadah al-Ansari, then al-Khazraji, a follower from Badr and Uhud, a captain, known as Abu Thabit, he stayed in Sham and passed away there.

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ أَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

اسْتَفْتَى سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي نَذْرٍ كَانَ عَلَى أُمِّهِ فَتُوُفِّيَتْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقْضِيَهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «اقْضِهِ عَنْهَا»

✧ Sa'd b. 'Ubādah sought a ruling from the Prophet ﷺ concerning a vow that had been upon his mother, who died before fulfilling it. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Fulfill it on her behalf."
