al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 5371

✧ Saad b. Ubadah al-Ansari, then al-Khazraji, a follower from Badr and Uhud, a captain, known as Abu Thabit, he stayed in Sham and passed away there.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانَ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَا ثنا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ وَائِلٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

جَاءَ سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أُمِّي مَاتَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا نَذْرٌ لَمْ تَقْضِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «اقْضِهِ عَنْهَا»

✧ Sa'd b. 'Ubādah came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said, "My mother died while she had a vow she had not fulfilled." The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Fulfill it on her behalf."
