حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ
ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ قَالَا أَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَعَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْأَمَةِ إِذَا زَنَتْ وَلَمْ تُحْصَنْ؟ فَقَالَ «إِذَا زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا ثُمَّ إِنْ زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا ثُمَّ إِنْ زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا ثُمَّ بِيعُوهَا وَلَوْ بِضَفِيرٍ» قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ «وَلَا أَدْرِي بَعْدَ الثَّالِثَةِ أَوِ الرَّابِعَةِ وَالضَّفِيرُ هُوَ الْحَبْلُ»

✧ Al-Qa'nabi narrated to us from Malik. And Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi narrated to us; 'Abd Allah b. 'Abd al-Hakam narrated to us. And Bakr b. Sahl narrated to us; 'Abd Allah b. Yusuf narrated to us. They both said: Malik reported to us from Ibn Shihab, from 'Ubayd Allah b. 'Abd Allah b. 'Utbah b. Mas'ud, from Abu Hurayrah and from Zayd b. Khalid al-Juhani, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a slave woman if she commits fornication and has not been previously married. He said, "If she commits fornication, flog her. Then if she commits fornication, flog her. Then if she commits fornication, flog her. Then sell her, even for a rope of hair." Ibn Shihab said, "I do not know whether after the third or the fourth time. Al-dafir is a rope."
