حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ صُهَيْبٍ ثنا حَبِيبُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ

كُنَّا نَقْرَأُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ «لَوْ كَانَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَانِ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ أَوْ فِضَّةٍ لَتَمَنَّى الثَّالِثُ وَلَا يَمْلَأُ بَطْنَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ»

✧ We used to recite at the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: “If the son of Adam had two valleys of gold or silver, he would desire a third, and nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except dust, and Allah relents to whoever repents.”
