حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ ثنا أَبِي ثنا يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّكُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّ أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ يَأْكُلُونَ وَيَشْرَبُونَ فَقَالَ «إِيْ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ مِنْهُمْ لِيُؤْتَى قُوَّةَ مِائَةِ رَجُلٍ فِي الْأَكْلِ وَالشُّرْبِ وَالْجِمَاعِ وَالشَّهْوَةِ» فَقَالَ إِنَّ الَّذِي يَأْكُلُ وَيَشْرَبُ تَكُونُ لَهُ الْحَاجَةُ فَقَالَ «عَرَقٌ فَإِذَا كَانَ كَذَلِكَ ضَمُرَ لَهُ بَطْنُهُ»

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "You claim that the people of Paradise eat and drink." He said, "Yes, by Him in whose hand is my soul, a man among them will be given the strength of a hundred men in eating, drinking, intercourse, and desire." The man said, "One who eats and drinks has a need." He said, "Sweat. When that is so, his belly becomes lean for him."
