حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثنا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَوْدِيُّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ وَبَرَةَ أَبَا كُرْزٍ يُحَدِّثُ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَبِيعَ بْنَ زِيَادٍ يَقُولُ بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَسِيرُ إِذْ بَصَرَ شَابًّا مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ يَسِيرُ مُعْتَزِلًا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَلَيْسَ ذَاكَ فُلَانٌ؟» قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَادْعُوهُ» فَجَاءَ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَا لَكَ اعْتَزَلْتَ عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ؟» قَالَ كَرِهْتُ الْغُبَارَ قَالَ «فَلَا تَعْتَزِلْهُ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّهُ لَذَرِيرةُ الْجَنَّةِ»

✧ He heard Rabi' b. Ziyad say: While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was traveling, he saw a young man from Quraysh traveling apart. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Is that not so-and-so?” They said, “Yes.” He said, “Call him.” He came, and the Prophet ﷺ said to him, “What is the matter with you that you have turned aside from the road?” He said, “I disliked the dust.” He said, “Do not turn aside from it, for by the One in whose hand is my soul, it is the perfume of Paradise.”
