✧ The lineage of Rifa'ah b. 'Abdul-Mundhir Abu Lubabah al-Ansari, from Banu 'Amr b. 'Awf, then from Banu Umayyah b. Zaid, also called Bishr b. 'Abdul-Mundhir, also called Bashir b. 'Abdul-Mundhir.

حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ رَافِعِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ

أَقْبَلْنَا يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ فَفَقَدْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَنَادَتِ الرِّفَاقُ بَعْضُهَا بَعْضًا أَفِيكُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَوَقَفُوا حَتَّى جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَعَهُ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ؓ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَقَدْنَاكَ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ أَبَا حَسَنٍ وَجَدَ مَغَصًا فِي بَطْنِهِ فَتَخَلَّفْتُ عَلَيْهِ»

✧ We set out on the day of Badr and missed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The traveling groups called out to one another: “Is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ among you?” They stopped until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came, with him ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib ؓ. They said: “O Messenger of Allah, we missed you.” He said: “Abū Ḥasan had a stomach cramp, so I stayed behind with him.”
