✧ On the Day of the Trench, there was no fortress more fortified than the fortress of Banū Ḥārith, so the Prophet ﷺ placed the women, the boys, and the children in it and said, "If anyone comes near you, flash your swords at them." Then a man from Banū Thaʿlabah b. Saʿd, called Bujdān, one of Banū Jaḥḥāsh, came to them on a horse until he reached the base of the fortress, then he began saying to the women, "Come down to me; it is better for you." So they brandished the swords, and the companions of the Prophet ﷺ saw him. A group of people rushed to the fortress, among them a man from Banū Ḥārithah called Ẓuhayr b. Rāfiʿ, and he said, "O Bujdān, come out!" So he came out to him, and his horse charged at him and killed him, and he took his head and brought it to the Prophet ﷺ.
