حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ قَالَا ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَذْكُرُ عَنْ عَمِّهِ خَالِدِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ

قَدِمَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حِينَ قَدِمَ مِنْ مُهَاجِرِ الْحَبَشَةِ وَمَعَهُ بِنْتُهُ أُمُّ خَالِدٍ فَجَاءَ بِهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَلَيْهَا قَمِيصٌ أَصْفَرُ قَدْ أَعْجَبَ الْجَارِيَةَ قَمِيصُهَا وَقَدْ كَانَتْ فَهِمَتْ بَعْضَ كَلَامِ الْحَبَشَةِ فَرَاطَنَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِكَلَامِ الْحَبَشَةِ فَقَالَ «سَنَهْ سَنَهْ» وَهِي بِالْحَبَشِيَّةِ حَسَنٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهَا «أَبْلِي وَأَخْلِقِي ثُمَّ أَبْلِي وَأَخْلِقِي» قَالَ فَأَبْلَتْ وَاللهِ ثُمَّ أَخْلَقَتْ ثُمَّ أَبْلَتْ ثُمَّ أَخْلَقَتْ ثُمَّ مَالَتْ إِلَى ظَهْرِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَوَضَعَتْ يَدَهَا عَلَى مَوْضِعِ خَاتَمِ النُّبُوَّةِ فَأَخَّرَهَا أَبُوهَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «دَعْهَا»

✧ He came to the Prophet ﷺ when he arrived from the Abyssinian migration, and with him was his daughter, Umm Khālid. He brought her to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and she was wearing a yellow shirt that pleased the girl. She had understood some of the speech of Abyssinia, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke to her in the language of Abyssinia and said, “Sanah, sanah,” which means “beautiful” in Abyssinian. Then he said to her, “Wear it out and wear it ragged, then wear it out and wear it ragged.” He said, By Allah, she wore it out, then wore it ragged, then wore it out, then wore it ragged. Then she leaned toward the back of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and placed her hand on the spot of the seal of prophethood, and her father pushed her away, but the Prophet ﷺ said, “Leave her.”
