حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنْبَاعِ رَوْحُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ مِقْلَاصٍ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بَعَثَ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ إِلَى نَاسٍ مِنْ خَثْعَمٍ فَاعْتَصَمُوا بِالسُّجُودِ فَقَتَلَهُمْ فَوَدَاهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِنِصْفِ الدِّيَةِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «أَنَا بَرِيءٌ مِنْ كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ أَقَامَ مَعَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ لَا تَرَاءَى نَارَاهُمَا»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ sent Khālid b. al-Walīd to some people of Khathʿam. They sought protection by prostrating, but he killed them. The Messenger of God ﷺ paid their bloodwite at half the diyah. Then he said: “I am free from every Muslim who stays with the idolaters; their two fires should not be visible to one another.”
