حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ أَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَعْمَشِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الضُّحَى يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ خَبَّابٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ رَجُلًا قَيْنًا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَكَانَ لِي عَلَى الْعَاصِ بْنِ وَائِلٍ دَرَاهِمُ فَأَتَيْتُهُ أَتَقَاضَاهُ لَا أَقْضِيكَ حَتَّى تَكْفُرَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ فَقُلْتُ لَا أَكْفُرُ بِمُحَمَّدٍ حَتَّى يُمِيتَكَ اللهُ ثُمَّ يَبْعَثَكَ فَقَالَ

دَعْنِي حَتَّى أَمُوتَ ثُمَّ أُبْعَثَ فَيَصِيرَ لِي مَالٌ وَوَلَدٌ فَأَقْضِيَكَ قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {أَفَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي كَفَرَ بِآيَاتِنَا وَقَالَ لَأُوتَيَنَّ مَالًا وَوَلَدًا} إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ

✧ He said, "Leave me until I die, then I am resurrected, and I will have wealth and children, and I will repay you." Then this verse was revealed: {Have you seen the one who disbelieved in Our verses and said, "I will surely be given wealth and children"?} to the end of the verse.
