حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا حَفْصٌ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ خَبَّابٍ قَالَ عَمِلْتُ لِلْعَاصِ بْنِ وَائِلٍ عَمَلًا فَأَتَيْتُهُ أَتَقَاضَاهُ فَقَالَ
إِنَّكُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّكُمْ تَرْجِعُونَ إِلَى مَالٍ وَوَلَدٍ وَإِنِّي أَرْجِعُ إِلَى مَالٍ وَوَلَدٍ فَإِذَا رَجَعْتَ إِلَيَّ ثُمَّ أَعْطَيْتُكَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {أَفَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي كَفَرَ بِآيَاتِنَا} الْآيَةَ

✧ He said, "You claim that you will return to wealth and children, and I will return to wealth and children. When I return to you, then I will give you." So Allah ﷻ sent down: {Have you seen the one who disbelieved in Our verses} the verse.
