حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَارُودِيُّ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ أَبُو سَهْلٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَضِيدَةَ بْنِ عَفَّاسِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ بْنِ شَدَّادِ بْنِ شِهَابِ بْنِ زُهَيْرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُودٍ الطُّهَوِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَضِيدَةُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَفَّاسٍ عَنْ جَدِّهِ حَسَّانَ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ
أَنَّ أُمَّهُ وَفَدَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي قَدْ وَفَدْتُ إِلَيْكَ لِتَدْعُوَ لِبَنِيَّ هَذَا أَنْ يَجْعَلَ اللهُ لَهُ فِيهِ بَرَكَةً وَأَنْ يَجْعَلَهُ كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا فَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْ فَضْلِ وَضُوئِهِ وَمَسَحَ وَجْهَهُ وَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَهَا فِيهِ وَاجْعَلْهُ كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا»

✧ His mother went as a delegate to the Prophet ﷺ and said: O Messenger of God, I have come to you as a delegate so that you may supplicate for this son of mine, that God may place blessing for him in it and make him abundant and good. So he performed ablution, and from the leftover water of his ablution he wiped his face, and said: “O God, bless her in him and make him abundant and good.”
