حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الضَّبِّيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ثنا يَعْلَى بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الرَّبِيعَ بْنَ زِيَادٍ عَنْ حَرْبِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «قَدْ أَمَرْنَا لِلنِّسَاءِ بِوَرْسٍ وإِبَرٍ فَأَمَّا الْوَرْسُ فَأَتَاهُنَّ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ وَأَمَّا الْإِبَرُ فَأُخِذَ مِنْ نَاسٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الذِّمَّةِ مِمَّا عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ الْجِزْيَةِ» فَقُلْتُ لِلرَّبِيعِ أَوْ قِيلَ لَهُ أَوْ سَمِعَهُ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَ نَعَمْ

✧ I heard the Prophet ﷺ on the pulpit on Friday saying: "We have ordered for the women wars and needles. As for the wars, it came to them from Yemen; and as for the needles, they were taken from some of the people of the covenant from the jizyah that they owe." I said to al-Rabi', or it was said to him, or al-Rabi' b. Harb heard him: Yes.
