حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ حَاتِمِ بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ الْحَكَمِيِّ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ غَنْمٍ الْأَشْعَرِيَّ قَدِمَ دِمَشْقَ فَاجْتَمَعَ إِلَيْهِ عِصَابَةٌ مِنَّا فَذَكَرْنَا الطِّلَاءَ فَمِنَّا الْمُرَخِّصُ فِيهِ وَمِنَّا الْكَارِهُ لَهُ فَأَتَيْتُهُ بَعْدَمَا خُضْنَا فِيهِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مَالِكٍ الْأَشْعَرِيَّ صَاحِبَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ «لَيَشْرَبَنَّ أُنَاسٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي الْخَمْرَ يُسَمُّونَهَا بِغَيْرِ اسْمِهَا وَيُضْرَبُ عَلَى رُءُوسِهِمْ بِالْمَعَازِفِ وَالْقَيْنَاتِ يَخْسِفُ اللهُ بِهِمُ الْأَرْضَ وَيَجْعَلُ مِنْهُمُ الْقِرَدَةَ وَالْخَنَازِيرَ»

✧ I heard Abū Mālik al-Ash'arī, the Companion of the Messenger of God ﷺ, narrate from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: “Some people of my community will certainly drink wine, calling it by other than its name, while stringed instruments and singing girls are played over their heads. God will cause the earth to swallow them up and will turn some of them into apes and pigs.”
