حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سُرَاقَةَ قَالَ
«رَأَيْتُ أَبَا قَتَادَةَ وَأَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ وَابْنَ عُمَرَ وَأَبَا أُسَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيَّ يَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْنَا وَنَحْنُ فِي الْكُتَّابِ نَجِدُ مِنْهُمْ رِيحَ الْعَبِيرِ ويُصِفِّرُونَ لِحَاهُمْ»
