حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ قَالَ
كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ إِذْ مَادَ عَنِ الرَّاحِلَةِ فَدَعَمْتُهُ بِيَدِي حَتَّى اسْتَيْقَظَ ثُمَّ مَادَ فَدَعَمْتُهُ بِيَدِي حَتَّى اسْتَيْقَظَ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ احْفَظْ أَبَا قَتَادَةَ كَمَا حَفِظَنِي مُنْذُ اللَّيْلَةِ مَا أُرَانَا إِلَّا قَدْ شَقَقْنَا عَلَيْكَ» «وَكَانَ أَبُو قَتَادَةَ يَخْضِبُ بِالصُّفْرَةِ»

✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on one of his journeys when he swayed on his mount, so I supported him with my hand until he awoke. Then he swayed again, so I supported him with my hand until he awoke. He said: "O Allah, preserve Abu Qatadah as he preserved me since tonight. I think we have only caused you hardship." Abu Qatadah used to dye his hair with yellow.
