حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ حَدَّثَنِي الْمُجَالِدُ عَنْ عَامِرٍ قَالَ قِيلَ لِسَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ مَتَى أَصَبْتَ الدَّعْوَةَ؟ قَالَ

يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ كُنْتُ أَرْمِي بَيْنَ يَدَيِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأَضَعُ السَّهْمَ فِي كَبِدِ الْقَوْسِ أَقُولُ اللهُمَّ زَلْزِلْ أَقْدَامَهُمْ وَأَرْعِبْ قُلُوبَهُمْ وَافْعَلْ بِهِمْ وَافْعَلْ فَيَقُولُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «اللهُمَّ اسْتَجِبْ لِسَعْدٍ»

✧ On the day of Badr, I was shooting before the Prophet ﷺ. I placed the arrow on the bowstring and said: 'O God, make their feet slip, terrify their hearts, and do to them such and such.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'O God, answer Sa'd.'
