حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُوسَى الْجُهَنِيِّ ثنا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ قَالَ

«كَانَ أَبِي إِذَا صَلَّى فِي الْمَسْجِدِ تَجَوَّزَ وَأَتَمَّ الرُّكُوعَ وَالسُّجُودَ وَإِذَا صَلَّى فِي الْبَيْتِ أَطَالَ الرُّكُوعَ وَالسُّجُودَ وَالصَّلَاةَ» قُلْتُ يَا أَبَتَاهُ إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ جَوَّزْتَ وَإِذَا خَلَوْتَ فِي الْبَيْتِ أَطَلْتَ قَالَ «يَا بُنَيَّ إِنَّنَا أَئِمَّةٌ يُقْتَدَى بِنَا»

✧ "When my father prayed in the mosque, he was brief but completed the bowing and prostration; when he prayed at home, he prolonged the bowing, prostration, and prayer." I said: "O father, when you pray in the mosque you are brief, but when you are alone at home you lengthen it." He said: "O my son, we are leaders who are followed."
