✧ Muhammad promises us the treasures of Chosroes and Caesar, while one of us is not safe even when he goes to relieve himself. He is the one who said, “If we had any say in the matter, we would not have been killed here.” Al-Zubayr said: The one against whom al-Zubayr testified for this statement is Wadiah b. Thabit b. Amr b. Awf. He is the one who said, “We were only conversing and playing.” And he is the one who said, “Why do I see our reciters the greediest of us in appetite and the most cowardly of us at the time of meeting?” And Judd b. Abd Allah b. Nabil b. al-Harith of the Banu Amr b. Awf. He is the one about whom Gabriel ﷺ said, “O Muhammad, who is this black man with abundant hair, whose eyes are like two brass pots, looking with the eyes of a devil and whose liver is the liver of a donkey, informing the hypocrites of your news—the one who chews his own dung?” And al-Harith b. Yazid al-Ta’i, an ally of the Banu Amr b. Awf. He is the one who went first to the water seepage that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade anyone to touch, and drew water from it. And Aws b. Qayzi of the Banu Harithah. He is the one who said, “Indeed, our houses are exposed.” He is the grandfather of Yahya b. Sa’id b. Qays. And al-Jallas b. Suwayd b. al-Samit of the Banu Amr b. Awf. We have heard that he repented after that. And Sa’d b. Zurarah of the Banu Malik b. al-Najjar. He is the one who lit smoke upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he was the youngest of them in age and the most malicious. And Qays b. Qahd of the Banu Malik b. al-Najjar. And Suwayd and Da’is, both of the Banu Balhabla; they are among those whom Ibn Ubayy equipped in Tabuk to discourage the people. And Qays b. Amr b. Sahl and Zayd b. al-Lasit. He was among the Jews of Qaynuqa, then he professed Islam, yet he retained the deceit of the Jews and the hypocrisy of the hypocrites. And Salamah b. al-Humam of the Banu Qaynuqa, who professed Islam.
