حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سِنَانِ بْنِ أَبِي سِنَانٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ حُسَيْنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ ؓ يُحَدِّثُ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ خَبَّأَ لِابْنِ صَائِدٍ دُخَانًا فَسَأَلَهُ عَمَّا خَبَّأَ لَهُ فَقَالَ دُخْ فَقَالَ «اخْسَأْ فَلَنْ تَعْدُوَ قَدْرَكَ» فَلَمَّا وَلَّى قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَا قَالَ؟» فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ دُخْ وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ بَلْ قَالَ زُخْ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «قَدِ اخْتَلَفْتُمْ وَأَنَا بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِكُمْ فَأَنْتُمْ بَعْدِي أَشَدُّ اخْتِلَافًا»

✧ That the Prophet ﷺ hid the word 'smoke' (dukhan) for Ibn Sayyad and asked him what he had hidden for him. He said: 'Dukh.' He said, 'Be gone! You will never exceed your station.' When he turned away, the Prophet ﷺ said, 'What did he say?' Some of them said, 'Dukh,' and others said, 'Rather he said, Zukh.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'You have differed while I am still among you, so you will differ even more after me.'
